CCFI believes that in order to increase India’s agricultural production, it is necessary to train the farmers on the right use of crop care products (agrochemicals), along with the latest seeds and the right use of fertilizers.
CCFI has endeavoured to develop focussed training programmes for farmers across India. Today, a large number of farmers in India are familiarizing themselves with the latest technologies in agriculture, including gaining knowledge on the right timings and dosages while using agrochemicals. This combined effect has worked wonders in several states where farmers have achieved remarkable feats in terms of increase in yield per acre and improved quality of crops.
CCFI realizes that the effect of the Green Revolution seems to have run its course during the last decade, and agricultural growth is now actually stagnating. Members of CCFI have taken the challenge to have Public-Private- Partnership (PPP) to provide extension services for Indian farmers. The object is to reverse the widening disparity of Rural and Urban incomes by improving the yields and quality of an individual farm’s output.
CCFI members have risen to the challenge and are taking up the extension work to help small and marginal farmers increase their crop yields and thereby their incomes. Here’s a gist of some of the activities:
